Christ The King Catholic Primary School A Voluntary Academy

To live, to love, to serve in the light of Christ the King

Subject leadership

At Christ the King Catholic Primary School, we are very proud of our bespoke, knowledge-rich and progressive curriculum. For this curriculum to be so successful we have to have dedicated and passionate staff to lead and drive each subject forward within the school.

The role of the Subject Leader within school is essential and one which requires true leadership qualities. We coach and mentor each leader to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to carry out their role effectively in school therefore having a direct impact on the outcomes of the pupils in our school. Subject leaders work closely with staff to plan & design units of work. In doing this, we ensure precision, sequencing, progression and consistency across school is maintained. Subject leaders also ensure their subject is taught to the highest standard.

We wholeheartedly support the professional development of our leaders and encourage them to access high quality training and provide opportunities for them to liaise with colleagues outside of our school. Subject leaders have developed relationships with other subject leaders in Family of Schools and St Gregory the Great Catholic Academy Trust. Subject leaders dedicate time to share their approaches to all stakeholders including staff, children, parents and governors.
