Applications for September 2025
Children born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021 are due to start reception in September 2025. Applications open on Friday 1st November. You can apply online at www.leeds.gov.uk/apply
Are you unavailable on our Open Days and need to book another date and time? Not a problem! Just contact our school office on 0113 2579230 and we will book you in on a mutually convenient date.

In-Year Applications
An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the normal admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. If you wish to make an in year application this must be completed online and submitted to the Local Authority. See the Leeds City Council website for full details:

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out above, will be applied. If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list (see above). You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing, and you have the right of appeal to an independent appeal panel.

Admissions Arrangements 2026/27 Consultation
St Gregory the Great Catholic Academy Trust is consulting on the admission arrangements for admission to Christ the King Catholic Primary School in September 2026 in line with the requirements of the School Admission Code 2021.
The consultation process will run from Monday 25 November 2024 to Monday 6 January 2025.
The Trust have made no changes to the previous policy which was determined for admissions for September 2025/26.

School Admission Appeals
If you have not been offered a place in the Reception class of your choice, you are entitled to appeal against this decision.

In Year Appeals
- The deadline for lodging an appeal against a decision for any other year group is 20 school days from the date of notification that the application for a school place was unsuccessful.
- Appeals will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being received by the Clerk. Following the hearing, decision letters will be sent within five school days of the hearing
Please note:
- School days are classed as term time only and do not include school holidays.
- If an appeal is submitted in the holidays, the school day deadline will not start until the beginning of the next term e.g. an appeal received in July after schools have closed will not be heard until the new academic term. ‘School days’ will start from the beginning of September when the term starts.

How to apply for school place for September 2025 (Applications open on November 1st):
1) Complete the standard application form (known as the Common Preference Form) online with the local authority by following this link: https://www.leeds.gov.uk/schools-and-education/school-admissions/apply-for-a-primary-school
2) As Christ the King Primary School is a Catholic faith school, children of the Catholic faith will be prioritised over those who are not of the Catholic faith. This is in line with our Admissions Policy and the Oversubscription Criteria contained within this.
3) If you feel that you should be in a specific category, i.e. Baptised Catholic, then you are required to complete a Supplementary Information Form.
4) The Supplementary Information Form needs to be submitted to school at the following address:
